Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)

This is muscle pain experienced after a workout, usually a day or two later. DOMS is intense muscle soreness that makes the simplest of tasks, like walking up the stairs, difficult. Very common among runners, DOMS is normal and expected after a strenuous workout. This happens after any high-intensity addition to one’s workout schedule. The feeling of sore, tight, stiff, and painful muscle aches usually last between 3-5 days.
