Potpourri Challenge 2023


Event Details

Initiated in 2015 as an inter-group running challenge, The Potpourri Challenge brings solo runners together to contribute points for their respective running groups. The champion group will triumphantly lift the Potpourri Cup, a prestigious Rolling Trophy. DXR clinched victory in the last edition. Rules & Guidelines:

Race Categories: 1 Mile, 5 Km & 10 Km
Registration open exclusively for respective Group members.
This is a timed event, with SMS-based timing notifications post-run.
Champion group determined after verifying timing results and points.
Participants join in only one distance category and for one group.
Gender and age-based categories exist.
A running group must field a minimum of 20 members.
Representation across all three distance categories isn't obligatory.
Last-minute bib exchange or transfer is prohibited.
Participants' Rewards:

Timing/Participation Certificate, Finisher Medal, Breakfast

Race Categories & Fees:

1 Mile Run (Min age 7 yrs, 6:00 am start) - 1000/-
5 Km Run (Min age 8 yrs, 6:15 am start) - 1000/-
10 Km Run (Min age 14 yrs, 6:15 am start, cutoff time 1:30 hrs) - 1000/-

Flat 60% discount until August 21

Last registration date: September 18 or until slots are full

Fastest Runners (overall winners - men & women) recognized on race day
The Format:

The group amassing the most points through participation and performance wins the Potpourri Challenge Cup. Each runner gains 1 point for registration and 1 for race-day attendance, for their group. Disqualification criteria in place to prevent poaching of elite athletes.

Points Calculation:

Participation Points: 1 pt for registration and event attendance
Performance Points: Top 5 rankings within each distance, age & gender category; 1st=20 pts, 2nd=18 pts, 3rd=16 pts, 4th=14 pts, 5th=12 pts
Disqualification Criteria:

To discourage elite runner poaching, strict disqualification measures apply.

Waiver Statement:

Participants affirm being physically fit, certified by a medical practitioner. They indemnify organizers, agents, and associates against claims arising from misrepresentation.
