Making Herself and Her Kids Proud Through Running
Aparna Paul shares her journey and how running helped her shed weight and find a routine path to fitness.
Mother of 2 (15yrs and 8yrs), took a career break after 16yrs of corporate life. Challenged herself and started her fitness journey at the age of 36 yrs. With regular exercise, lifestyle change, Aparna Paul Shet lost 50kgs in a year. From always being obese since childhood, from 120kgs, now she is a fit mom at the age of 42.
After shredding around 30kgs in the initial 7-8 months during my first year of fitness journey, her husband supported her and introduced her to running. She ran her first 10k distance at Goa River Marathon 2016 in 75min. Since then, there’s been no looking back, and she completed her 1st Half Marathon in 2017 and first Full Marathon in 2018.
She started running for weight loss but it is now part of my life. She loves to call herself as a runner mom.
Personal Bests -
1) Full Marathon Podium Finisher (age category) - 1st position at Goa River Marathon, 2019
2) Two times Podium Finisher - 1st Runner Up at Baisakhi Challenge 13x13 days in 2021 and 2022 by running maximum distance in 13 days
